Castlemaine Test



The ceramic workshops at Lot 19 presented by CROSSHATCHED are rooted in millennia old Rajasthani pottery traditions. Facilitated by visiting potters Manohar Lal, his son Jugdish Prajapat ,  Sandra Bowkett and local ceramist Ann Ferguson these workshops are an opportunity for the community to explore their   creativity through the ceramic medium in  supportive cross-cultural   workshops and events. 

Opening event: Sat 14 March, 10am to 12 noon Free 
Demonstrations and make a small pot on a traditional wheel assisted by Manohal Lal or Jugdish Prajapat.

Introduction to *Stack Sculpture  Workshop: $100 per participant includes;

·         throwing and matka (waterpot)making  demonstrations

·         make a small pot on the traditional wheel assisted by Manori or Jugdish.

·         one matka to decorate, assisted by Ann and Sandra.

Drop-in Days: Tues 17th, Wed 18th, Thurs 19 March, 10am to 4pm
Participants  from Intro to *Stack Sculpture Workshops can drop-in  to either continue decorating their  matka  or purchase further pieces to decorate to build a Stack.  Small $40 medium $50 large $60

Bookings are essential to ensure workshop space and availability of additional matka.


 Family Workshops: $130 for 4 people (one of whom is an adult) Ages 4 and up; extra family members $25  Includes

·         demonstrations,

·         make a small pot on the traditional wheel assisted by Manori or Jugdish.

·          decorate a family matka assisted by Ann and Sandra.

Community Firing: Small pots made during workshops will be fired in a drum kiln. Free

                                Sun 22 March, 4pm to 7pm.

Your  pots will be available for collection  from Lot 19 after they have been fired. You will be notified when they are ready to be collected.

 *Stack Sculpture. A series of matka stacked on a central pole to create a standing sculpture.

 Finished matka and lids can be purchased  for $50 each, stand $15, perfect for cooling water without refrigeration.
